WORSHIP PLANNING REPORT to 31st March 2023
Between March ’22 and March ’23 there was a big change. Gareth left us and Naomi arrived. Gareth had said, “Don’t worry, you’ll be fine with Naomi” and he was right. We have had some wonderful services - vibrant, powerful, some even spell binding. And we needn’t have worried.
The Good Friday ’22 Vigil moved from the old format to a new experience with a larger number of contributors, yet with a unity between them. Sunday2 provided something very special with a balance between what is appropriate for both children and adults, although Imogen had begun to worry about what would happen when she was no longer here. Links have been maintained with the Quakers.
In September Naomi arrived and Imogen & David went to live in Wales, leaving a big gap in the life of the church. Naomi felt the young parents would manage if we supported them, it has proved to be so and numbers of children are growing. A recent All Age Communion to involve the children in worship went well, as did the Christmas services with a scratch choir at the Carol Service, and Taize in Advent and Lent.
