Food and Friendship
Food and Friendship – Celebrating Interfaith Week (13th to the 20th November)
We are having a Food and Friendship gathering on Thursday 17th November from 6 to 8pm. You are warmly invited to bring some vegetarian food and share it with others. Our shared meal is a time to meet people from different faith traditions and find out a little bit more about each other as we have our dinner together.
We welcome everybody to the Interfaith Room at Shirley House, 31 Psalter Lane, Sheffield S11 8YL
Transport information: We are aware that, while parking is available at St Andrews Psalter Lane Church, next door to Shirley House, we are not very accessible by Public Transport. (Buses 218 leave interchange: 17.35 & 17.55), but do not return after 8:00 pm. If you are concerned about getting home, please notify us at sheffieldinterfaith@hotmail.co.uk and we will see if we can a lift home within Sheffield.
Also, if you prefer not to travel in the evenings, would your community/congregation like to host a Food & Friendship bring-and-share dinner? You would need to offer a suitable area for 12-20 people to meet and eat, preferably to include tables, chairs, plates and cutlery, kettle, microwave and tea, coffee etc. You do not need to prepare any more food than a few individuals would provide if attending such a meal.
We usually meet at 6:00 pm for about 2 hours, but have occasionally met at midday in the City Centre (Upper Chapel, Norfolk Street), to cater for those who work in town. If you have a preferred time to host a meal, that suits your community better, please suggest it.
