Clifford All Saints School Report

Clifford All Saints C of E Primary School

It seems hard to believe that already a year has passed since we last wrote to you. Clifford All Saints continues to be a wonderful community to work within. Our lovely families, fantastic children and dedicated staff make us proud every day to lead Clifford All Saints Primary School.

We continue to face the challenges that living under the cloud a global pandemic brings. However, there have been lots of things this year that have felt like a return to a  ‘new normal’.

Over the last year, we have enjoyed beginning to reintroduce trips and visitors into every year group’s experiences. Some of these have included a residential trip to the Oakes Holiday Centre, the National Emergency Services Museum and a trip to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. This year has also seen the return of visits from members of the congregation from our linked churches and visits to both St Andrews Psalter Lane and All Saints, Ecclesall. We absolutely loved holding our Year 2 nativity play at St Andrews. The children entertained the audience with their retelling of ‘Lights, Camel, Action’.

We are also very grateful to Imogen Clout for continuing to join us in school to provide engaging collective worship sessions with our children at Ringinglow Road and Psalter Lane. When Imogen led the Ash Wednesday service for our youngest children, it was wonderful to observe how the children responded with such a sense of contemplation, facilitated by the responses and imagery Imogen shared.

This year, we have benefitted  from the support of an IEB (Interim Executive Board) of governors who have supported the school on its improvement journey following a period of change in leadership. Members have brought significant knowledge and experience in the areas of Safeguarding, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Curriculum and Estates. Over the coming year, we will be transitioning back to having a Local Governing Body. If you feel like you would like to contribute to the life of school as a future  governor, please contact our Chair of Governors, Rob Coleman on the email address above.

This year is the first time that we will say goodbye to a year 6 cohort. The children will be sporting their new ‘Leavers Hoodies’ during the summer term. After they have completed their SATs tests, they will be preparing a leavers show and service. They have all found out about which Secondary Schools they will head to in September and we are sure you will join us in keeping them in your prayers as they prepare for this period of transition.

We are now a school of 196 children across our two sites. These sites have continued to develop over the years. This year, a wonderful group of parents worked together to create a lovely library space in what was the upstairs classroom at Psalter Lane. The former library is now a ‘sensory space’.

Below, we have shared a snapshot of what life is like at Clifford All Saints. Thank you, as ever, for your continued support of our school. If you would like to get in touch to find out more about what is going on, or to discuss a school place for your child/ren, please do not hesitate to get in touch through the email addresses above.

Very best wishes,

Cathy Rowland and Hannah Wood
