The future for Palestine

The future for Palestine, 25 years after the Oslo Accords

Information, discussion and Palestinian supper at St Andrew's Psalter Lane Church on Saturday 29th September from 6.00 pm - 9.00 pm

We welcome Revd John Howard, recently returned Mission Partner from Bethlehem/Jerusalem who has travelled widely in Israel and Palestine, including Gaza.

and

Caitlin Proctor who has lived and worked in the West Bank and Caza for much of the last 6 years

In 1993, Yasser Arafat and Yitzhak Rabin signed the Oslo Accords. The aim was to develop Palestine into a state and to continue, over the next 5 years, to develop solutions to the state of Jerusalem, Israeli settlements, Palestinian refugees, borders and security. Twenty-five years on, none of these issues has been resolved, indeed settlements have increased massively and President Trump has decided that Jerusalem shall be the capital of Israel, contrary to international agreement. What are the issues and what is the future?

Both speakers will share their experience with slides and film. The buffet style supper will be served at 6.00 pm - a meal of Palestinian traditional dishes, both vegetarian and meat.

Please reserve your place at what promises to be a fascinating evening by email to Anne Hollows anne.hollows@gmail.com as there are limited places for the supper. The price will be 'pay-as-you-feel' with a suggested donation of £5.

The discussion will take place from 6.45 pm.

Please indicate whether you will be attending the supper.

There will be a stall selling Palestinian produce as well as information from Kairos.
